Network Marketing

| The Business Opportunity | Commission Rates In FLP |

Network marketing is also known as multi-level marketing. Please don’t confuse it with pyramid selling, it isn’t.

There are three types of business model:

 - The conventional business whereby you make your own product or sell someone else’s. You need a premises, staff, advertising, and a load of money to start. Roughly half of such business fail in their first year.

 - Franchising: you sell someone else’s product or service, follow their methods and pay them a share of your turnover as well as the cost of the product or service. Less likely to fail, but you still need a ton of money to start. Example: McDonald’s.

 - Network marketing: most of the advantages of franchising but without the costs. You sell a well-known product to friends, family, anyone in your neighbourhood (i.e. your ‘network’). If you choose you can recruit others to do the same thing and you will receive commission based on their sales as well as your own. Some companies have a small entry fee of up to £200. Examples: Avon, Kleeneze; Betterware; Utility Warehouse; Forever Living Products (no entry fee).

Why FLP?

First, let’s look at the others: Avon gives you an area to work in, which is fine in that there is no competition, but the areas are too small to allow you to earn much money – £20-30 per week is typical. Recruiting is easy but the people you recruit leave very quickly – it’s like filling a leaky bucket! They can’t earn enough, so they leave.

Kleeneze and Betterware sell much the same products. If you had joined 15 years ago you could have made a fortune, but not now. Join now and you will find there are other reps covering the same area and you share the potential business with them. Recruiting to your team is difficult. Most new reps soon quit and lose the joining fee.

Utility Warehouse sells electricity, gas, phone calls etc. The prices are good but every gas company has people knocking on doors trying to get people to change supplier. Also, nobody has heard of Utility Warehouse as they don’t advertise, which helps keep their prices down but people are more reluctant to sign up with someone they don’t know.

Believe it or not we tried all the above! OK, not Betterware. The one that really works for us is Forever Living Products. FLP has the advantage of still being quite new and so is growing very fast. The products are terrific and have no real competition. They aren’t cheap, but you get what you pay for and people are willing to pay for something that will improve their lives and health. Anyway, how much are you going to earn selling Avon lipsticks for 50p!

Now To The Detail

 - You are your own boss.
 - You choose your own hours. How long you work is up to you, generally; the more effort you put in the more you will earn.
 - There is no initial outlay (although most people buy a ‘Combi’ pack at the start) and no stock to hold. When you get an order you collect the stock from your local Product Centre or order by post.
 - There are no annual fees (unlike many others companies!).
 - You have the freedom to move location. Moving house will not require you to join again in another area.
 - Full training available. Each area holds regular training sessions. Attendance is voluntary, but you can learn about the products and how to grow your business.

Most people start on a part-time basis, working a few hours each week. As their business builds and the income grows, many give up their ‘day job’ and work full-time at their FLP business. However, you’re the boss. How much you put in is entirely up to you.
